The First Vote

April 26, 2004 04:40 PM

I voted for the first time today in about seven years of eligibility. And I can't really explain the ecstasy I felt. And the relief. The relief of starting to take politics seriously. Thanks to all the numerous awareness campaigns in various media and in my locality, I decided enough is enough. This year, I actively compared between various options available (but ignoring the farce you see on television in the name of channel surveys) on my own and cast my vote. I can now go back to office and work peacefully for the next five years. Probably. :-)

Kudos to you, coz you voted out of conviction. If only more of us did that, our 5-year relaxation period would be ensured :-)
