KamaCrypto

As if my disconnection from the cyberworld wasn’t enough, yesterday when reading a book on crypto I discovered to my surprise that the book mentions Kamasutra having a reference to cryptography! Crypto Kamasutra places the art of secret writing 45th in the list of arts a woman needs to know. This was suggested to communicate with their paramours without letting anyone know. In ancient times, breaking a complex substitution cipher would be very tough indeed. Today these ciphers aren’t used at all. Computers are able to crack even the most complex of substitution ciphers in seconds using frequency analysis. It still goes a long way in proving that ancient Indians knew the art of cryptography long before anyone else did and they used it practically. This fact finds little mention in many modern documents on Cryptography History. I could find only one interesting link on this.
